Crochet Cushion Cover

cushion coverI used to do a lot of knitting when I was younger, I loved doing it but my neck didn’t like it and the pain stopped me doing it. Recently my sister has been crocheting so I got it into my head that I would give it a try as well. While I was in Bath I found a shop that sold special crochet hooks for special people, i.e. people with arthritic fingers. The hook is very chunky so you don’t need to grip it quite so hard. I searched youtube for patterns and instructions but in the end I decided to go with a pattern Kathleen had been given by a friend at her crochet class. Isn’t youtube wonderful? You can learn anything from the videos that have been uploaded, I love it and waste spend a lot of time browsing the tutorials. The crochet grew very quickly and was soon finished, it took me longer to get round to making the pad to fit inside because I couldn’t buy a ready made one the correct size. ¬†Crocheting still hurts my neck and fingers but not as much as knitting. ¬† The cushions looks very pink in the picture but they aren’t they are dark red. I’m not convinced I like it but it can stay on the sofa for a wee while till I decide if it is going to a new home or staying here.
