This looks like chocolate mousse, it tastes like chocolate mousse and in fact it is chocolate mousse but not as you know it, there is a mystery ingredient!  You must all be used to me trying weird things in the kitchen but when I saw this recipe on a blog last month it seemed just a bit too weird even for me.  The ingredients were to hand though and it is very quick to make so if you know anybody who is vegan or doesn’t eat eggs then this is the recipe for you.  Only three ingredients are needed, 100g chocolate, a little bit of coffee extract and the liquid from a  tin of chick peas!  You read it correctly the gunk you throw away when you open a tin of chick peas whips up just like egg whites.  So next time you make hummus keep the liquid, whip it up and fold it into 100g melted chocolate that has had 1tsp coffee extract added ( you can even leave this out if you don’t like coffee).  Put into little bowls, I used cups and leave to set.

I know it sounds bonkers but you really don’t taste the chick peas. It would be a useful recipe for you if you are cooking for a Heather’s aunt.
